Smashbox...not my favorite...or so I thought?

Well, here we are again! Today, I am discussing Smashbox "Lip Enhancing Gloss". It retails for 18.00 dollars, but I never paid full price for mine. I bought them on Ebay, which I really wouldn't highly recommend. I wanted to try it out and hadn't had any problems until I bought one of these and then another lip gloss.
Below, are my three Smashbox lip glosses. At first, the more I bought the more I HATED them. After going through my lip gloss drawer last night, I "Re-found" one and its now definitely one of my favorites! Not only is it one of MY favorites, but is also rated on the website by other viewers as THEIR favorite. Can you guess which one? And the funny thing is, is that it was my least favorite at first....
This is "Soiree". When I looked at the pick on Ebay it was a nice shade of pink. When I got the lip gloss, this is what I got. They had put the wrong pic/lip gloss on Ebay, but gave me the right lip gloss I bought. I hate this color, and its weird, but the texture is different than the other two. When I put it on all I can think about is "clay". Like pottery clay... this particular smashbox lip gloss makes my lips peel, the texture I hate, and the color I just really despise. This was the one I was MOST excited about! It was such a pretty pink in the picture and then I got this. What a disappointment. I think its pretty when I put it on my hand, but whe I put it on my lips...something is missing. Maybe its too orange for me. It still doesn't explain why the texture of this gloss seems to be different...it COULD be the fact that they have 3 different formulas. One is "Sheer color", "True Color", "Full Color", and they are made differently, too. So I guess that answers my question. I don't know, but this Smashbox lipgloss is not my fave.
SO, I bet you thought this was my favorite, right? It is a GORGEOUS pink, with pretty little things of glitter! BUT, its not my favorite. This lip gloss was one that they sold on QVC. I got it on Ebay for 5 bucks. Luckily, it was the right one. Its suppose to be a "Smile Brightening Lip gloss". It has a minty smell to it. I HATE the texture and the smell. It burns or tingles and because of that, I really hate what it does for my lips. I really like a lip gloss, where I have smooth lips afterward and doesn't make them peel really bad (like this one). I like a lip gloss that hugs and makes them feel moisturized, like they are getting a massage.... :) Not to mention, I don't think this color looks great on me either. Maybe you can try it and you will love it, but it just isn't for me.
SIDE NOTE: If ANYONE wants these lip glosses, I will send them to you. If I don't like them, I won't use them. Yes I used them once or twice, maybe more, but as you can see in the pics, they look brand new. So, if you don't mind sharing my germs...or whatever...you are welcome to them...
And now to my FAVORITE! Please take a look below and see "Pout". This one was an unexpected surprise. When I first bought it, I thought, "really? This gloss is really light! I will look like I have no lips at all!" Well, because of my first thoughts when receiving this gloss, I really didn't give it a chance. What do you know, I was going through my drawer last night and found it. I put it on and I LOVED it! I barely had any make-up on and when I put it on I really loved it because I felt like I could wear it around the house. Very casual color, which I like. My next thought was, "How's the texture?" And I loved it. My lips didn't peel afterward and I woke up with soft lips!! I love it when I can shop in my fabulous lip gloss drawer and find something that was a disappointment before, become treasure! It was even more exciting when I saw on the website that this is the #1 color sold! So I definitely recommend this one!
Overall, this lip gloss doesn't receive a 5 out of 5 from me. I would give it a 3 & 1/2 out of 5. The full 3 & 1/2 probably goes to the one I love....Not to mention, when you have a Chanel lip gloss (the best), everything else seems lacking in comparison. No joke, but I will still really love "Pout" and can't wait to use it today! Enjoy and treat your lips well! :)

New blog. New Gloss.

Hi, My name is Mary and I am a lipgloss addict. I've recently been put on some "rest" (as much as possible with a toddler) after going into preterm labor with our second child. I thought it would be fun to start a new blog about my adventures with lip gloss.
Since this is the first blog I am going to start at the top. Today I bought my first "Chanel Glossimer". It is 28.50 at retail stores and if you check the internet sites, like Ebay, before you buy, you will find out that they sell on there for over 10 dollars. More than retail stores, and that might not include shipping.

I have been wanting to try one of these for a long time, but haven't had the means to do so. After one of my friends took me to a department store that sold MAC, it opened my eyes to a whole new world. I usually just buy lip gloss at a regular store like Wal-mart or Walgreens, but after going to a department store, I know better now. Let me just say that you don't know the best until you try the best. I have many lip glosses and ever since that trip, I have tried Clinique, Lancome, and of course, my new Chanel. Each one keeps getting better, but by far Chanel is the most amazing. Probably because its the most expensive. Even though Lancome lip glosses only goes for 2 dollars less(I did not pay full price for mine though). That would also explain why Lancome comes in Second. A VERY close second. We will get to those other lip glosses in another post. One at a time people.

Below is my new Glossimer in "Pink Peony". I have to say I have NEVER put something like this on my lips, but I am sure most of you are saying, "It better be good for 28.50." And I would agree with you! You might think, "O I can get a lip gloss like this anywhere." No you can't. Like I said you don't know the best until you have tried the best. The way this lip gloss hugs your lips is amazing and it does it without being super sticky. I personally like a sticky lip gloss, but this is the perfect balance. This lip gloss could satisfy everyones needs for a lip gloss no matter how picky the person.
The color is sheer, but to me gives me just enough. The more I write about lip gloss you will found out that I like a very pouty, pink lip color. I don't like too much color because I am the kind of person that wants to wear lip gloss all day, even if I don't go out of the house and have minimal mascara on. I have tried other colors, like coral, and it just doesn't work well with my skin tone. Pink, for me, is the way to go.

When I first put this on, my first thoughts that came to mind is that it was SO moisturizing. Its like a lip balm, but thicker and lasts longer. I have a lot of issues with my lips drying out when I am pregnant and this made them soft, like butter in just one application. If you had or wanted to splurge on yourself. Maybe buy yourself some new make-up? Try this gloss. I would certainly give this gloss a five out of five star rating.
